Creating Web Certificate breaks IE...

I created a web certificate (I didn't import it).  As soon as I did this and the page refreshed I got a 404 error.  I can telnet to port 443.  I can even use mozilla to access the web admin.  I've restarted, but nothing seems to help.


any ideas?

    You might have an old version of the cert in there causing some sort of confilect. Go to your internet options-->content-->certificates section. 

    Select the trusted roots certificate and then dlete any certs with FWADMIN, Firewall Admin, or Admin-Firewall (etc..) and retry, you should now be ok.

    I did check that.  I was going to delete anything I saw in there.  I didn't see anything, so I didn't mention it in the initial post.   I was going to try to save the import file by downloading it with mozilla, but it automatically tries to open it.  I was going to use this file to manually import it into IE.


    I haven't had a chance to try using it by name yet.

    Does it work from another workstation, (is the problem only with yours?) Just curious.

    that I have not tried.  I'll try a laptop when I have a chacne.
