Astaro + Dell + Cmd680 Controller = Slow Perf

I installed astaro on a Dell PowerEdge 680 which comes with a CMD680 controller but I have got slow performance because of PIO mode access to the Hard disk. Astaro correctly detected the controller and the hard drive but it doesn't enable the DMA mode on it.
I have tried to use ide0=dma as append parameter but nothing changed.
Any ideas ?

We have the same problem on a dell PE 650. Boot Time is around 10 Minutes.
using_dma=0 in /proc/ide/hda/settings
Performance is not very bad
is it possible to force the dma mode somehow?

I just worked around uploading a static hdparm to my box and changing /etc/rc.boot/boot file (I added the "hdparm -d 1 /dev/hda" at the begining).

Hope Astaro Team will fix this.

I did this too today. Copied the hdparm from a redhat 7.3 box to ASL and edited the etc/rc.boot/boot with

/sbin/hdparm -d1 -c1 /dev/hda

Problem is Fixed.
