eth1 still down

I've a problam, because the eth1 of my Astaro security linux is alwase is down. I can configure it as a dhcp client or with static ips.
the eth0 is up and i can connect to the webinterfase. If I start it with "ifconfig eth1 up" it dos not display the ip, and in the webinterfase ist still down. I changet also the NIC but doesn't work.

    I have this problem each time i add a new ethernet interface.
    i am assuming you have are already connected etc...

    Most of the time after i have enabled the interface if i close my browser and open again it is ok. Or I just try to enable again and it works.

    Note also that there is a time delay involved before it is up.

    No it does no go up, also if i wait for 10 min, or if i close the browser. If I start the computer and make a ifconfig, there is only a eth0 and a lo.

    ASL v. 4.009 AMD K6-II 400MHz, 128 MB Ram,  3Com, Realteak, Intel, SMC NIC's I have change them, 13 GB HDD.
    It's only the eth1 witch still down. In  /etc/wfe/conf/itf.conf is the status of eth0 1, the status of eth1 is 0, but if a but it on 1 then i cant connect to the web interface. I also get in ip from the dhcp.
