ethernet interface - enabled, but reported as down

using webadmin, i configured eth3 as 192.168.2.1/24 with gateway=none (standard ethernet interface), enabled it, but it's reported as down (though the light is green).
also, address/netmask are displayed as ???.???.???.??? in interfaces list

i even tried editing /etc/wfe/conf/itf.conf by hand - i added an entry
for eth3, copying most of the settings from the other, working card (eth2).
but interface isn't being brought up, addr/mask are again ???.???.???.??? in interfaces list in webadmin
the hardware is ok - plain "ifconfig eth3 192.168.2.1/24" does what i want
i hope astaro fix its' bugs pretty soon. also, with 4.008 update, all my network cards are displayed as unknown vendor/unknown device (they work, though) (in 4.007 they were correctly identified). some new bug?

    seems to be a licensing issue. The homeuse license is limited to
    three interfaces and eth3 is the fourth.

    i have tested asl on a aries appliance and there i had and have the same problem that asl does not recognize the network vendor. but the networkcards are working.

    besides, what kind of a hardware you have?

    The "unknown vendor, unknown product" - problem was introduced with the up2date to 4.008. But that is only a cosmetical problem which does not interfere with the functionality of the interfaces.

    I Have the same problem with 2 Nic Intel Ethernet Pro 100 and 1 Intel 82544GC Gigabit Ethernet Controller, both are unknown.

    Some services like aua and crond are defuntcs, all connections work discontinuosly
    also after restarting defuncts services.

    I can't use the new ASL 4.008 and 4.009, both of them have the same problem.
    I have had to roll-back to ASL 4.007 for a stable connection (new installation).

    Can it is a bug of new kernel?

    I am using ASL4.008  and I had this same problem when I first setup my ASL system at home, but it occured after I changed the IP address on my first network card to a different IP scheme. After changing the IP address of the card webadmin reported ???.???.???.??? for all of my network cards IP's. Everything that I changed would not remedy this problem. Finally I reloaded everything from scratch with the new IP scheme and everything has been working fine since.
