3.215 HTTP Proxy "allowed target services"

Just wondering... I don't quite understand the online help for this new item...

Does this mean that the Squid Cache will now cache FTP connections (if it's on the allowed target services list)?

Please clarify.

Thanks,

  • Anyone with access HTTP proxy (prior to 3.215) was able to connect to any TCP port anywhere. Access via proxy-CONNECT superseded all and any packet filter rules.  Basically a rule at position 0 that says "proxy_users - any svc - anywhere", even if somewhat cumbersome to use sometimes (i.e. if your program does not directly support HTTP-CONNECT proxies).
  • Hi there,

'Anyone' or ONLY the hosts specified in allowed networks?
