A way to a successfull Up2Date

After reading this group, I am a bit afraid to make an Up2Date on some of my clients ASL boxes. The boxes has been running troublefree untill now. Telling a clients that I am about to make an update which *** up the box is not a smart thing to do.

Originally, I simply thought that it could be done with a few clicks in WebAdmin, but it seems that some users here have experienced that the ASL box frose and had to be rebooted (and hard boooted?).

This means that you can not rely on making a Up2Date from remote.

What are best practise to do a successfull Up2Date from a remote location?

    if the boxes are decent (iow. not old junk).
    Then you should not see any problems exept, maybe beeing disconected during the uppdate...other than that it works like a charm.
    I have my (3.2) firewall to dowload up2dates and then i do the actual uppdate 2 days after it is released. that way i can check teh forums for errors prior to doing the uppdate (i hope that everyone alse will test it before me so that the worst errors will not affect me)

    For ASTARO: would it be possible to add delete  button on already downloaded uppdates ?

    And by "disconnect" I guess that you then are saying just to reconnect again without doing a hard reset?
