Post-install Login

Hi,

After installing Astaro, I cannot login to my combined gateway/firewall. I am now using the Mandrake firewall, but would really like to try Astaro.

My setup is as follows:

"server" which should be gateway and firewall, connected to Cable and internal LAN.

2 clients connected to the server.

How should I set this up? Astaro won't accept 192.168.0.1 for both gateway and local IP [:(]

Any help greatly appreciated!!

Problem is, I thought I had the network set up correctly, but could not log into the Astaro web interface.

Basically, the question is this:
I have one server and two clients. The server is connected to the internet (UTP) and the two clients (different NIC, using coax).
Could someone tell me which settings to use for the server and clients, preferably with local net 192.168.0.x?

Wón't I run into problems because Astaro won't let me set the "default gateway" to 192.168.2.1?

"default gateway" it´s GW ip to your ISP..

Duh.
Since the setup was asking stuff about the local network, I guess I got a little confused. All the more since I don't have to say anything else about the external network, like my own IP.
Perhaps this external gateway info should only be entered after the LAN setup, i.e. through the web interface?

Anyway. I'm gonna try again.

Hi again,

Tried the setup last night, but no go. I really don't understand what is going on; I can't even ping the server or clients.
Using either WinXP or Mandrake, the network functions properly. I did use the correct NIC in Astaro. Is this strange or what?

Apropos, a second attempt at a version 2 install failed after I had tried the beta V3. Partitioning failed. [:(]
