Adding Third NIC

I know there have been postings about this before, but I want to install a new nic in the firewall.

Question: How can I force the new nic to be eth2?

Is there a way to re-initiate qmail-install? I would like to reconfigure the whole qmail system.

- Save your active configuration
- Re-Install the ASL from the CD
The new card should be recognized
- Restore your configuration
- Configure your new eth2

Why not just put in the NIC and do the config with the webadmin? This is how I did it.

I am sorry,
maybe i provided an old information.
In the old version new hardware was not automatically recognized.
You had to re-install ASL.

To my shame i didn't test it with 2.xx or in other words: i didn't need to, because i installed 4 NICs while installing
[;)]

you were right, no plug and play after installation.
To install a additional NIC without reinstalling ASL
you need to know the responsible driver and to add
it in /etc/modules.conf.
I think a reboot is the fastest to activate the new
settings.
