Firewall Crashing

hi everyone,

Does anyone know what causes this problem. It happens when a backup script is run and a lot of data is going round the network

NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out
Oct 11 19:02:07 citadel2 kernel: eth0: Transmit timed out, status 0000, PHY status 782d, resetting...
Oct 11 19:02:07 citadel2 kernel: eth0: reset did not complete in 10 ms.

can anyone help?

Are you getting any collisions? I had the problem once and was getting errors with my backup server resolving to the wrong address. Check into that, also, what kind of servers are you running?

whats eth0 for NIC (a via-rhine chipset)?
