Installation problem

Hi!

This may be a stupid question, but here goes anyway.

I have just installed ASL 2.0 on a machine with ASUS CUV4X m/b and DLink DFE570TX tulip-based 4-port network card.

During installation I selected standard values for IP 192.168.2.100, 255.255.255.0, 192.168.2.1.

Then I took a crosslink cable and connected eth0 to a workstation configured as 192.168.2.2.

During boot the ASL machine detects all four ports of the DLink card and everything seems normal, but I cannot access the machine from the workstation using ping or IE 5.5.

Any suggestions on what to check?

    On your workstation, ensure that the default gateway set to 192.168.2.100 instead of 192.168.2.1.

    Also, I had problems with several different NIC's, including Netgear, D-LINK, and Linksys single port cards. You may want to try using either a 3Com 905 series or the Intel card to see if the card itself is the issue.
