Sophos AP 15 disconnects every user

Hy guys,

currently i have a strange problem with my Sophos UTM and the AP 15. From time to time the Access Point disconnects every user. To get the Access Point working again i have to disable / enable it within the admin console.

Within the Logs Files i can see this :

Do have any idea what the problem could be?

Thank you in advance

  • We have the same issue and it has been ongoing for months. It started about once per month and now it's at least once per week that all devices are disconnected. Normally the devices will reconnect after a strict 10 minutes, but today I had to disable and re-enabled the SSID for the down network.

    I have submitted multiple requests to SOPHOS Support and all of the responses have been: "We don't see any issue." I finally got a suggestion to try static channels and the issue only seems to have gotten worse. I have verified that the channel is use is not congested.

  • Hi,

    Can you provide me a case# with Support to take a personal look at what is happening? Alongside, provide me some information:

    1. Any authentication method used for users to connect or simple WiFi password?

    2. Any fix time period when the disconnection occurs or specific duration after which the disconnection is faced.

    3. What firmware version resides on UTM?

    4. SSiD is configured as bridged to LAN/ separate or VLAN?

    Thanks

  • Hi, Nathanial, and welcome to the UTM Community!

    In addition to the items requested by Sachin, please post the Log lines related to the initial disruption.  Also, the lines before and after your Disable/Enable so that we can see what changes.

    Cheers - Bob

  • Thank you both.

    After opening several cases over the past 6+ months, I pushed for an RMA on the AP.

    I'm installing today. If the issue persists, I will have to assume it's a UTM or AP firmware issue and we will go with another AP brand that we use for non-Sophos clients.

  • 1. WPA2;

    2. Yes. At first it was between 3-4 pm on every third Wednesday. After changing the channel selection to static (per support rec.) the disconnects are sporadic and more frequent;

    3. UTM SG105 = F/W: 9.407-3;

    4. Bridged-to-LAN.
