Sophos UTM Home running on licensed ESXi 6.0
Hi guys,
I am experiencing a strange issue where the WAN link just stops working. When I log into the admin console I see State: UP Link: Error
I have 3 virtual Ethernet connections: LAN, WAN, WAN Backup
LAN maps to a physical port going to my LAN switch
WAN and WAN Backup map to a single physical port going to my cable modem.
I added WAN Backup and Uplink Balancing to tackle the issue and it worked for a while. WAN would crash and fail over to WAN Backup (same physical port) and the connection would continue to work.
Lately however WAN and WAN Backup will have the same issue State: UP Link: Error
The cable modem has 4 ports and a solid connection. I have a wireless router connected directly to the cable modem for guest wifi access and it does not lose connection. I connect to this to verify the modem is still working when the internet stops working for the LAN.
There are never issues with the LAN connection and I never have any problems logging into UTM when the connection is down or any other time.
I have tried swapping out all cables involved with no difference
Any ideas how to troubleshoot this further or what logs to look at?
