I guess that I was lucky for getting a chance to work with both Sophos and Cyberoam products in the past few years, without previos knowing of merging them into single OS.

After watching "Copernicus Beta Overview" video aimed to Sophos partners, I can for sure tell you that Copernicus won't be based on Sophos UTM but on Cyberoam OS. 

Beside new GUI administrative interface prepare yourself to forget almost everything you knew about Sophos UTM logic and to switch to Layer8 (user-based) thinking, network zone-ings and unified firewall rules (all of them very cool functionalities once your brain adapt it..[:)]).

yes, there is currently a partner-only beta in progress, which was just kicked off a short time ago, and we'll open it up to everyone a little later in the month. This is a large project, so we want to take the public facing steps carefully. For example, we're simplifying licensing delivery in project Copernicus, by automating the license creation, download, and installation process. But this is a new process, and we want to make sure that we limit the number of users hitting the service as we iron out any final wrinkles. 

Blueshoes10, I understand you have a very strong opinion about the new UI from the images and video you've seen so far. Absolutely, there was some marketing influence to it, as far as colors and fonts, but there's far more to it than just trying to look pretty. I hope you can reserve judgement until you can try it out for yourself. Once we have a public beta forum open, there will be a proper avenue to share your constructive feedback on the UI and features. 

I think most users will be pleased with this first release, but if there's something that really doesn't work as well as we hoped, we are listening very closely to all feedback. If you're open to a bit of change, I think we can deliver something pretty exciting for you. If not, UTM9 isn't going anywhere any time soon. we're still working on new features for that too! If you're interested in checking out project Copernicus, just stay tuned. we'll launch the public beta forum in just a matter of weeks.
