Project Copernicus

Hi guys,

FYI, Cyberoam resellers and partners received this e-mail today, invitating them to join the webcast:

Cyberoam will soon be announcing an all-new OS that combines the best of both Cyberoam and Sophos technology. Prior to its release, the codename for this new OS is Project Copernicus, and you’re invited to join the Beta program and put it to test.

Join us for this Project Copernicus Beta webcast to learn more about:

• What is Project Copernicus?
• New features and capabilities
• Software availability schedule
• Testing goals and feedback process

I will attend it also (since I've got the link), but in my opinion more important question is - why Cyberoam announced it before Sophos, does that mean that they are driving the project ?

No, they did it because somebody had to go first. Don't read into it. There is no special meaning or hidden agenda.

Us Sophos Resellers (at least I did) heard about it earlier this year, and they even had several presentations about it at the Sophos Conference this year in May. So... it appears Cyberoam folks were notified later (if you are a Cyberoam reseller and this is the first you've heard of it). As Scott said, don't read anything into it, though.

Actually, I am Sophos reseller...and was surprised that Cyberoam was the first one that will do live webcast, demos...etc. to their partners.

I didn't attend any of that fancy Rome, LA, Prague..etc. partner conferences where photoshop images without any demo were presented in PPT presentations.

Uuummm, it's the same company. There is no Cyberoam or UTM....only Copernicus and Sophos.

Not so sure, because they still have and are improving their own partner/sales channels separated from us (Sophos).

They will next week. There will be a public Beta very very soon... Be prepared. [;)]

Beta is already prepared, it will be obviously published on Monday by Cyberoam to their customers.
