SSD health

Should I expect premature ssd failure if my swap usage is consistently in the 60 percent range? If so, is there any way to mitigate it? Seems that the UTM 110/120 Rev. 5 (2gb ram) should be able to handle the work load of a family home.

  • Modern or not, a consumer grade SSD isn't designed to stand up to the large amounts of small writes the the UTM produces. For most home use cases, the SSD won't produce a noticeable improvement over a basic consumer drive, and it will burn out sooner then the enterprise level disks.
