Password Recovery Nightmare: Help!

Refer to the thread above that I am following for my brand new SG125

VGA and Keyboard no dice.
(Once I enter init=/bin/bash and reboot the keyboard stops working. Legacy BIOS settings have no effect.)

Serial cable no dice.
(ESC key won't load the bootloader.)

SSH doesn't connect
(Perhaps I didn't enable SSH in my initial config?)

I am at a loss here. Please help.

I've managed to reset the password with the serial cable.

Do you see anithing with the serial cable?

I have written a post with step by step how to reset the password over serial, but i cant find it on my mobile, maybe you have more luck.

I can't even hit escape at the grub loader with the serial cable and putty.

Well, this has me stuck as well! Have an sg105 with all passwords lost, and trying my best to follow the procedure for resetting all passwords. Have so far tried 3 USB keyb's, Putty doesnt respond, nada! So I was rather hoping someone in here might have a way of getting into that bugger to do a factory reset. Incredible, in 2015, that one has to go to such length for this kind of problem! Bug in 9.3??

Look on the back of the 105 there should be a reset hole.

Hi William,

yes indeed there are. However, that reset does NOT in any way of operation (time pressed) perform a factory reset, only a simple reset as in reboot!
So no help there folks... sorry.
Now back at the office trying to figure this sh.. out :-) Wish me luck!

if you truly cannot get into the box..get the usb stick installer for the utm appliance and boot to it..that forces a reinstallation.

Hi again,
and thank you for your advice. Er... being rather fresh on these UTM's, may I ask where & how I can produce said stick? I take it there may be some receipe as to how to do it somewhere?

And - all this have to be done from a Mac, just in case that has any bearing on the procedure.

Hi, the official USB stick would come from your reseller, but you should be able to use a generic one with the Hardware ISO; see

Make sure you use the Hardware/Appliance ISO.

I'm not sure if this will install without a keyboard.
