Troubleshooting Link State

I just noticed on my dashboard that my LAN interface shows UP ERROR.  I've looked through logs and interface screens, as well as a command line ifconfig, but see nothing out of the ordinary.  The interface is set up as a static IP, 1500 MTU, and using the VMWare VMXNet 3 adapter (UTM running as VM in ESXi 5.5).

I can't find anywhere in the GUI to hard code the speed/duplex settings on an interface.  Am I missing that, or is that not available?  How can I better troubleshoot this problem?

    It looks like that "Link mode" settings was removed from the GUI in some of the recent up2dates, it was available before(scrshot).

    Just checked, that option is still present but only on hardware, not on virtual appliance.

    That's strange.  After rebooting the VM, it went away for a minute or two and then returned.  Not sure what gives, but I would imagine that things are not running as they should, although besides the error I have no indication of that within the UTM.

    I confirm that it's not on my 9.207-19 UTM instance in Amazon EC2, nor was it there on 9.206.35.

    So, link speed and duplex setting are not available on the virtual build of UTM.  Without those settings and any log entries that seem to pertain to this, what is the best method of troubleshooting this error?  What even causes this error in a virtual environment?

    Just an update for those who may be experiencing a similar issue.  I fixed my issue after realizing that uplink balancing was turned on under Interfaces & Routing > Interface > Uplink Balancing.  This would have been fine if I had two uplinks, however for some reason my internal and external interfaces were under the active interfaces tab.  Disabling this immediately fixed my issues.
