I haven't rebuilt yet with the other software issues I'm having, but I've had a couple new issues crop up. This machine is a Dell T20 with a G3220. It came with 4GB RAM, and I added 4GB from Crucial's "guaranteed to work" list, and a used Intel CT desktop adapter. This is the second T20 I'm on, as I've had some issues with these machines.
The other day we picked up a Roku 3, and tried it out. It took some work for it to connect (ICMP was disabled, and it doesn't like that). We watched a movie and a show, and I had a few network disconnects during that time. Finally, the network wasn't working so I went to investigate. I plugged in a monitor to the machine, and the screen was gray static (I've seen this before with these machines). I tried to connect to the web interface, and was getting a 503 Service Unavailable message, but the system was still passing traffic.
So, I did a hard restart. When everything came back up, I checked my email and I had 5-6 reboot notifications with "reason unknown". It looks like when I lost my connection streaming, the machine had rebooted.
I left the monitor plugged in, and turned it on later to see if the video was hosed again. It wasn't, but there was an interesting message in the login prompt:
[ 98.583236] Disabling IRQ #16
It's been stable like this for a day now. Has anyone seen anything like this? It has been frustrating with all the software issues I've been having, and apparently now hardware issues--or a combination. I just need to get everything reinstalled, as I'm concerned there may be security issues with this many problems.
