Yeah, I guess my question goes to cost-effectiveness and practicality. Trying to position this approach compared to on-site hosting.
So, we know that there's no licensing issue involved that prevents firing up an image first in a larger instance and then later in a smaller one?
Switch-over time: Is it possible to do Hot-Standby with instances of different sizes in order to minimize the downtime involved in switching between the sizes? I'm fairly certain that it's not possible to add/remove processors or RAM in a running instance.
