Snort sold to cisco

Hi!

i just wanted to know what happens to snort used in the UTM products now while cisco bought sourcefire. will their be any changes to the IPS?

because our company is many years Sourcefire's distributor, I think that I can describe the situation.

Snort wasn't sold to Cisco, really.

And what is the principle of Snort implementation in ASG or Sophos UTM?

The Snort implementation in ASG/Sophos UTM is Snort free distribution but with paid Snort rules from Sourcefire VRT team.

maybe your government to prohibit it, as happened in the case of Check Point's acquisition.
