Strange v8 anomolies

Im new to this product (as i said before in previous topics) and ive been having a very rough experience so far. however some new things popped up and i figured that i would ask around. some of the odd things that happened was that astaro re-designated a new ip/interface for management. the second thing was that i cannot get my second (quad interface) nic to access the internet while the native dual nic config on the motherboard can easily go out to the internet.

    UpLink Balancing is only for WAN interfaces, not the ones for LAN.  It is not a means of teaming interfaces.  If you want to team the ports on your quad-nic, then you would want to look at Link Aggregation.  In order to utilize this, you would need a managed switch that supports LAG.

    Astaro doesn't have a dedicated management interface.  You can use one for that purpose, but it's really no different than another LAN.  I'm still a bit confused when you say that it was renamed.  If you go to Interfaces & Routing>>Interfaces, do you mean that the label (name) you gave it changed or that the NICs were reordered (NIC ports re-assigned to different interfaces)?



    When posting to the forum, understand that nobody here can SEE what your talking about, so be as painfully descriptive as possible.  This is especially true when it comes to the term interface, which can mean both the NIC port and the network assignment given to it.  Screenshots are quite helpful as well.  [:)]
