So a Telstra BigPond (Australian ISP) came in an repaired my cable connection earlier on this afternoon; I confirmed that it worked by accessing the internet directly from the Motorola SB5101U modem from my PC.
Shortly afterwards I connected my ASG v8 appliance to the modem and my PC to ASG, the internet worked for a brief 5 minutes and then the "Update location of BP Cable Service" webpage appeared (this page is displayed when a new modem is used on the Telstra BigPond network). Tried enabling/disabling the WAN interface, rebooting ASG but to no avail.
I disconnected the modem from ASG, connected my PC directly to the modem so I could re-register it, however, the internet worked with no problems at all.
So in summary; internet works fine when a PC is connected directly to the modem, internet doesn't work when PC is behind ASG.
I suspect that Telstra Bigpond is (for whatever reason) seeing ASG and thinking its a new modem connected to the network. This has never happened before; I made a call to BigPond tech support but my guess is that they'll be clueless as to the reason why this is happening.
Any advice/assistance in troubleshooting this issue would be greatly appreciated.
