Because it's important I will add also a comment on it: it was and will never be our philosophy to delete postings on our UBB (despite spam), and all of you who discussed with us ASL 5.0 and ASG 7.0 know what I mean...
Let me also add that the existing management team as well as all the people you know from that forum will be on-board and run Astaro within Sophos.
As a nice anecdote (and because sometimes people think we don't follow the board): yesterday evening we monitored together the UBB, especially the now deleted thread about the rumors, and had some fun wondering who will post the next rumor ;-)

it however affect the corporate users, I am an admin in a company, we heavily use these devices, and we always have to pull some cords to get licenses renewed and whatnot.
Astaro has always been nice and gave us temporary licenses (30/45) days for the Pro features while we get the purchases order in place with a very slow billing department.
bottom line they now only give out 3 ( YES I said THREE) days temporary licenses... do they think in 3 DAYS an international company can have a PO and approval that requires a certain number of signatures ready !?

The license renewals are extensions of the expiration date. There's no advantage to waiting until the subscriptions are about to expire, and nothing that would prevent your company from starting the renewal process even six months before. This issue began with the change to the new licensing system, so the planning for it probably predates even the discussions with Sophos.
We no longer give temporary licenses to companies like yours. We deliver up to two one-month renewals. We don't advance any more subscriptions until receiving payment for the monthly renewals and the 1/3-year renewal. We start the renewal process two-to-three months ahead of expiration.
