  • thanks Bruce, i try to contact seller and ask if rev.2 or 3.

    what type of RAM?
    Normal DIMM? or DDR2-DDR3?
  • I honestly don't remember (very few customer units were able to be upgraded, most we had were replaced by newer ones)... I think it might be plain DDR.

  • Dune, I made a small correction to my post above; Rev 1 and Rev 2 appliances shipped with 512MB, but are upgradeable.  Rev.3 ships with 1GB installed.

  • Bruce:

I'd forgotten about the older revisions. I'd figured Dune was talking about a new unit. [:)]

    Dune:
I'd have to double check what RAM was in the ASG 110/120 but I think older ones may have used DDR-333 or DDR-400 RAM.

Now how much is the seller asking for the unit? I ask because you can build a brand new Intel Atom D510 or D525 based firewall for around $350 that'll blow the socks off the older ASG hardware.
  • i can upgrade to 1GB about all rev of Astaro 110 and upgrade to 1GB?
i want upgrate the at last relise (8)

with home license can i set and use proxy?

    i hope less than 100€ about 130$.

  • Not all revisions of ASG 110/120s can be upgraded.  The Rev.0 version can't be upgraded at all, for instance.

can i see a ticket on the Astaro CASE?
the seller can't see the configuration of the astaro. [:(]
  • Be very careful, because some of the oldest models only came with 256MB installed.....

There should be a sticker on the bottom with the model, revision number, and serial number.

To be honest, if I were you, I'd just use / build an old workstation to run the Software version of Astaro.  That box is already 3 years old (if it was mfg. in 2008)... just about any old workstation will do, with enough NICs and RAM (1GB minimum).

Quite true, but those were built far before year 2008.
