This reminds of a story that happened in 2000 when i was working for a dotcom. We had to move office and the sysadmin guy took his server, which had an external UPS, and moved it to the other building while it was running.
The uptime of that machine (i think it was a Pentium I, running Novell Netware 3.1x) was about 960 days. The transport went well, but shortly after he crashed the machine while trying to unload the monitor.nlm
