My Avira Host based AV System is failing to update because of lack of IPV6 Support.
What is happenng is the Avira Updater has a list of IPV6 and IPV4 Server addresses. If IPV6 is identified as available on a machine then the IPV6 addresses are used. Unfortunately these are seen by ASG 7.47 as faulty addresses. and the update fails. there is no way of forcing Avira to use IPV4. AAARGH!
Some may argue that this is a problem with Avira not enabling the ability to switch off IPV6, however, a state of the art firewall should offer "state of the art" networking facilities. It's not as if IPV6 is somethng terribly new, it has been around for many years now.
Please can someone in product development get their sensible hat on and put this obviously needed support for IPV6 in place.
