Avira Host AV Fails Because of No IPV6 Support

My Avira Host based AV System is failing to update because of lack of IPV6 Support.  

What is happenng is the Avira Updater has a list of IPV6 and IPV4 Server addresses. If IPV6 is identified as available on a machine then the IPV6 addresses are used. Unfortunately these are seen by ASG 7.47 as faulty addresses. and the update fails.  there is no way of forcing Avira to use IPV4. AAARGH!

Some may argue that this is a problem with Avira not enabling the ability to switch off IPV6, however, a state of the art firewall should offer "state of the art" networking facilities.  It's not as if IPV6 is somethng terribly new, it has been around for many years now.  

Please can someone in product development get their sensible hat on and put this obviously needed support for IPV6 in place.

    JB, it seems strange to me that Avira insists on V6 for updating your host behind an Astaro where neither host nor Astaro is squawking anything other than V4.  What is it that I am ignorant of?

    Disable IPv6 on the machine hosting Avira?
    How does Avira see IPv6 on the remote machine if Astaro is blocking IPv6?

    Does your ISP support IPv6? If not I don't see what the problem is.  Disable IPv6 on the client, or contact Avira Support (if you have support) for info on how to turn of the IPv6 update server setup.

    My understanding is that Astaro is working on a Version that will support IPv6, but there simply is not a demand for it yet in most of the world.  I'm sure they'll have it out there when it's needed.
