Can't login via web interface or loginuser

Hello all.

For some reason, my authentication for the web administration or loginuser are not
recognized or authorized.

Just a few days ago, I had to manually reset the web admin password by using the
loginuser and system_password_reset combo. Now, it's happening again. Only this
time, the loginuser account is also locked out.

Has anyone ran into this problem and know the fix?

    Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I don't have unencrypted backup to use. Since this
    feature occurred on you at least once, do you know if this is a known issue? It's rather
    annoying and frustrating that all accounts, web access and loginuser, is locked out all at
    once.

    Jav, We and  our customers have been lucky and have not experienced this.  My response is based on my participation here.

    I've not heard of a situation where ALL accounts were locked out.  If you don't have another way to boot an OS on that box, I think you're faced with a re-install; I'd sure try a few reboots first just in the hope linux would fix whatever index is broken.

    That's funny - I just searched and found this thread because the same thing is happening here. My AWG4000 box is not allowing any of the 3 admins here into the box.

    For the record, most Linux systems can be accessed at the physical console by booting to runlevel 1 from the GRUB bootloader... this gets you a shell without asking for a password, and you can then reset the root or loginuser password from there.

    The only exception I know of is if there is also a GRUB password installed.
