[ASG v7.303] Clustering ERROR log...

Currently both ASG was using v7.303.
I configured the first unit meanwhile I saw the high-availability live log and everything was fine, no error message.
The status changed to be MASTER.
Then I configured the second unit, I choose automatic configuration option.
After the second unit joined as SLAVE... the ERROR log comes up every 10s.
I'm waiting for several minutes but nothing happened.
Is this because of the firmware?? Because I found in this article

When you first install a cluster, you should NOT configure the Slave. Just load it from the CD, turn it off, plug in the ethernet cables and turn it on. The Master will configure it.

According to several recent posts, the V7.302 software appliance ISO seems to not work well for some installations. If you loaded from it, I suggest that you start over with both units beginning with the V7.300 ISO and applying the Up2Dates from there. Of course, you can backup your configuration from the Master and apply it after you go through the reinstall.

Thank you Bob for quick response...
Both unit using ASG 525.
Right now I already have the ISO (v7.302) for hardware appliance which I got from ftp://ftp.astaro.com
Could I use this ISO to flush both of the unit? Is that okay?

hi,

i think, the iso-files ftp://ftp.astaro.com/pub/Astaro_Security_Gateway/v7/hardware_appliance/iso/ are quite ok, i ´ve downloaded it and have re-imaged my Cluster slave with it. Works fine.
But, as Balfson already mentioned, you should install the updates to 7.303 and 7.304 after re-imaging.

Here in the forum, you´ll find some "cookbooks" how to update an cluster

Last question..
What about the RAID? It is automatically set up or I should do manually when I'm doing re-image on ASG 525?

hi,

i´m not sure, if the 525 is doing hardware raid. If it is so, the raid will be set up normally in the raid controller bios. So there is nothing to do within the operating system.

if the OS is doing "software raid", then it has to be setup within the OS.

Our hardware appliances handle the RAID themselves, you just need to get the image loaded onto the system if you are re-imaging.
