V5 - Home License renewal

FWIW, version 5 is end-of-life:

I believe those features are free for home users in version 7 now.

I have the same problem, anybody can help me please? I have V5 license key which I am using with my V6. The license expired and I renewed it in MyAstaro. Unfortunately the SPAM filtering is OFF in the new license. Astaro support team answered "Go away!"... nice service there [:(]

I would not like to upgrade to V7 right now, maybe a bit later after a few months.

Is there any way I can add the SPAM filter back to my V6 license?

But in deed, as Astaro's Home Use license is completly free of charge, you are only entitled to get support at www.astaro.org.

To anwser your question, no it is not possible to renew an older V5/V6 home use licese or enable specific features.
But you can get register for a new V7 home use license which brings all subscriptions (web security, email security and email encryption) completly free of charge with it at http://my.astaro.com.

Gert, thanks for a quick reply! This kind of forces me to upgrade - I cannot stand my wife's complaints about the spam e-mails she keeps on getting in masses each day...

The exact words from support were "please note that Astaro Support is a pure 2nd level support and for Astaro Partners and Distribution only. The Astaro partner or distributor will help you to solve the problem and may forward the issue to Astaro according to the purchased silver and gold maintenance conditions." To me this std message equals "Go Away!" since they very well knew I am a home user without silver or gold bling...

I'd recommend only upgrading to V6 unless you want to do a bunch of reconfiguration.  That way you can simply import your backup from V5 and everything is setup the same again.  The new V7 licensing from Astaro works on previous versions of 5 and 6 as well as with V7.

Cath, I already have V6 but the license is V5.

However, I decided to upgrade to V7. I took a nice Xmas beer next to me and started to work on it yesterday evening. In less than one hour my network was back on-line with V7 installed. It was easier and faster than I thought!
