V7.000 nitpicking and other gripes

V7.000-122-2 has been up without a restart for over 3.5 days.
Nitpicking
1/. Dashboard - HTTP Proxy never has any value other than 0
2/. The executive report figures are little odd
The firewall has  have downloaded approx 300mB using only just over 400 packets[:S][:S] unusually large packets or because Europe uses the "." as the delimiter it is approx 420,000 packets, still very large packets. Approx 70% of this comes from my ISPs mail server.

3/. Strange stats for the storage system if you have a large disk installed, I have -16,000 something days of storage left at current usage rates. LOL

Serious gripes.
1/. I get about 2 of these message a day
Content Filter Framework not running - restarted

2/. POP3 seems to go to sleep. I logon in the morning and leave my e-mail enabled to see what happens. Nothing downloaded, so I just save a function in the POP3 menu (no configuration changes) and bingo mail delivery starts. I need to do this 2 or 3 times a day depending on how busy the ASG has been. If lots of use, the action is required less. Some of the mail is over 2 days old when it eventually arrives, which in some cases makes it older than some of the responses to it I have already received and read.
Delivered 16 e-mails, blocked 40, but I can't find 40 blocked e-mails anywhere, this is according to the dashboard and the email security summary?

3/. IM/P2P summary and detail pages don't shown any values, yet the packet filter report shows traffic passing.

4/. my ASG is the top SPAM country and the TOP SPAM Sender/Relay in the Executive report.


General observations
When first installed the CPU usage was a lot higher than I expected, but then a new version, extra functions. We are talking about 10% load. I installed my v7 licence and CPU load immediately dropped and has gradually worked it way down to very low levels with memory running consistently around the 70% + or - 3%.

    I'll add.. although some screens report multiple IPS events, none show up on the IPS Summary screen.

    According to Network summary my ASG has handled 91.0mB of POP3 mail today, but the e-mail security summary only shows total e-mail of 1.9mB.
    The live pop3 log shows a lot more e-mail being delivered than I am receiving. Some of the e-mail is repeat deliveries. It doesn't show in quarantine, spam log or end-user-portal.
    1 message I have received, it was a couple of days old, but continues to show in the livelog as being delivered.

    This is causing me some grief and because I have a new v7 licence I can't revert to v6.

    I changed the POP3 proxy and DHCP server this morning to see if that was causing the problems, otherwise it will be a re-install.
    it worked great for a couple of days until I tried the e-mail encryption, but disabling that doesn't seem to have restored the system.

    Found another problem,
    the up2date process takes a number of hours to load in the new files. I noticed at about 9am my time that 15 was available, now nearly 2pm my time and 15 is still in the latest list with 12 active. There are no buttons to push to make it install the latest version.

    Well I am about to re-install v7.000 and use a 4 day old backup as a restore, e-mail (POP3) has become unworkable with prefetch enabled again. So far today about 50mB of POP3 traffic. With prefetch disabled missing responses to course queries dated 24/1/07 arrived along with a lot of other messages that were showing in the log file but not being delivered.

    re-installed and used an older backup. Back on line with POP3 now functioning correctly, up2dates happening quickly.
