As home-user i can`t agree to your experience.
Had some trouble with my License, opend a ticket over my.astaro.com and
it was fixed one day later.
Thanks everyone. Seams like Astaro is a normal company. They:
- provide fixes for problems that many people have. - expect customers to purchase support. - don't tell the customer that their problem won't be fixed when he is the only one with the problem...
Most of the companies out there are just that way. I personally agree that one should purchase support and with Astaro's prices I don't understand why anyone wouldn't have it. I also think that they can't support every single soft and hardware configuration even if the open source community does. They are out there to make money, not friends, and a $100 RAID controller shouldn't cause one to ask himself "Astaro or not". I would most likely also be pissed the first day if they did the same to me though[:)]).
It's actually a $500 RAID controller, and replacing the machine would cost at least $1500-2000 USD (the RAID is on the motherboard), but your summary is otherwise pretty accurate. [:)]
