Help! Slow speeds.

did you also try from a other machine
witch is having a very fast line?

I can download at good speeds from both Internal and DMZ.

Uploads from both nets are slow, with the speed cycling up and down.

External link is 4mbps full duplex fibre.  I can saturate the link downloading from nearby FTP sites.  Uploads run at 1/4 to 1/8 of capability.

The speed cycles from 4kbps to about 100kbps and avgs at 50kbps.

I have got our ISP to test the speed and they see the same issue.

Is there any way people can think that I could narrow this down to either Astaro or our ISP?  Any clues??

QoS on/off makes no difference.

Could be a nic issue in the ASL box.  Try changing the WAN nic.

Could it be fragmented packets?

MTU on all interfaces is 1500

Is there any way i could diagnose fragmentation?

I could try a new NIC I guess....

could be..i doubt it though.  This honestly sounds like a nic issue to me.

Found it.. The external NIC is running 10mbit half duplex.  It's not our card though (swapped for a brand new one).  Appears to be my ISP's ethernet to fibre converter.

ick..10 megs would not be a problem..half duplex though is an issue..[:)]
