can access web server from dmz with external adres

Dont know if this is the right forum part, if not just move it.

i have a gallery running on a linux box which are on the dmz
and for some wierd reason it need to access www.mydomain.com/gallery/ from the web server itself (when using it ofcourse)

i just dont seem to be able to get that working
it just wont work with lynx www.mydomain.com .

any ideas on how to get that working?.
(adding to hostfile dont work since ppl on the outside obvisly cant se that internal adress)
