can access web server from dmz with external adres

Dont know if this is the right forum part, if not just move it.

i have a gallery running on a linux box which are on the dmz
and for some wierd reason it need to access www.mydomain.com/gallery/ from the web server itself (when using it ofcourse)

i just dont seem to be able to get that working
it just wont work with lynx www.mydomain.com .

any ideas on how to get that working?.
(adding to hostfile dont work since ppl on the outside obvisly cant se that internal adress)

Several things...

Firstly, do you have www.mydomain.com in publicly accessible DNS servers?

Secondly, do you have DNAT rules and PF rules setup to allow access on port 80 into the DMZ machine?

Sorry i was a bit unclear.

www.mydomain.com is accecable from outside .
about the dns question i dont understand but i have www.mydomain.com pointed aginst my ipadress ..

ping www.mydomain.com (from webserver) i get
123.123.123.123 (my real external ipadress)
