interesting(weird?) ASL webadmin behavior

ok i have defined my admin username password as *****
i also defined my loginuser password as *****************
now here is the interesting part when i log into webadmin i can use either the loginuser password or the admin password and it lets me in.  Is this standard behavior or a bug?

    Do the first six characters of both passwords match? Is the password even longer than six?
    (I did not want to presume the number of asterisks used above match the number of characters used, as reasonable an assumption as that might be...)
