Feature Request: File & Print Server feature

I agree with uncue75. A firewall is best designed to do one thing and one thing only. Keep the bad guys out and filter what the people can and can't do on the inside. Once you start adding other stuff you just open the possibility of more security holes.

    Would that be possible to add File&Print server feature on Astaro? It will be very nice to have them!

    hmmm... I personally hope not.

    I think it is very unwise to add non essential services to a firewall.  It's just something else that can be exploited.  Once your firewall has been compromised you are pretty much screwed.

    If you are looking for an all-in-one box, I would recommend www.e-smith.org.  You can just turn off the things you don't want.


    Just my two cents...
