I agree with uncue75. A firewall is best designed to do one thing and one thing only. Keep the bad guys out and filter what the people can and can't do on the inside. Once you start adding other stuff you just open the possibility of more security holes.

    hmmm... I personally hope not.

    I think it is very unwise to add non essential services to a firewall.  It's just something else that can be exploited.  Once your firewall has been compromised you are pretty much screwed.

    If you are looking for an all-in-one box, I would recommend www.e-smith.org.  You can just turn off the things you don't want.

    Right, there's a reason that Astaro erases your whole hard disk on install... You're never gonna mistake an app that warns "say bye-bye to whatever was on that disk" for a file server!  [:)]

    Generally those who are going for a full-featured firewall like Astaro are looking to put servers and such off in a DMZ (which astaro of course supports) to both keep them away from users and to limit damage if an external server gets comprimised... You definately DO NOT want your files on a machine sitting directly on the net... So I wouldn't hold your breath for a file-server + fw from Astaro or anywhere else.
