DHCP on external interface

I am having the exact same problem with DHCP on the external interface as well, with version 3.2.  I will try and forward log files to him as well.  I hope that there is a fix soon!

What type of hardware are you running 3.2 on?

I have found that there is an issue with the DHCP code on Intel Pentium based chipsets.  This includes the FX, VX, HX, and TX chipsets.  I have tested this with classic and MMX processors as well as K6-II processor and the result is the same.  The DHCP code does not work.  I am going to try and find a socket 7 motherboard with another chipset (VIA, ALI, SIS) on it and see if that works.  Time has been short recently though.

If you have access to a PII or better system, it works fine.

It's supposed to work on older boards, & it works flawlessly for me with a little tweaking, on an ASUS TX97 with an AMD K6-2 400.

I have the same problem with Pentium 166 + Aopen TX chipset. Now I have to go back smoothwall

This bug is in the known issues list

and it says there will be a fix for it 'Next release'. It only affects Pentium 1 and K6 CPUs though.
