Does SG135 SUpport RED15w?

I have recently purchased RED15w for our branch office. But as I'm about to add the device, there is no RED15w in the drop down menu on the Client Type.

I am new to SOphos. Thanks

  • Hi KhaLev,

    which version do you have installed?

    The updates are cumuilative.

    So you have to install from your version to the next version and so on.

    9.301 -> 9.302
    9.302 -> 9.3xx
    9.3xx -> 9.4xx

    Maybe a reimage and recovery from your backup is the faster solution.

  • Hello,

    My current version is 9.320-2. What firmware should I upload? Thanks

  • Hi KhaLev,

    the first file you have to start with is this

    ftp://ftp.astaro.com/pub/UTM/v9/up2date/u2d-sys-9.320002-321002.tgz.gpg

    The first number is your installed version the next on your updated version.

    The next on is

    ftp://ftp.astaro.com/pub/UTM/v9/up2date/u2d-sys-9.321002-350012.tgz.gpg

    And so on.

    You can also upload multiple files before installing the updates.

    By the way, how are the update check interval configured?
    Or does the UTM has no direct access to the internet?

    But I recommend to reimage your device.

    Best Regards

  • Hello,

    I tried to install the first file but it says "Internal Server Error" upon uploading the file.

    Update interval is every 15 minutes but says no up2date packages available. So I changed to manual and tried to manually upload the file but nothing is happening.

  • Hi KhaLev,

    what does the up2date log write when you clicked the manual lookup for updates?

    Best Regards

  • Hi and welcome to the UTM Community!

    If you're on 9.320, you're on a version that's almost 3 years old.  If you try to upload too many Up2Dates, your / partition will become too full to apply the Up2Dates successfully.

    Start by setting the 'Firmware Download Interval' to "Manual" and then do the UP2Dates to 9.358, then 9.405, then 9.415, then 9.506 and finally, 9.601.  Note that the list of Up2Dates contains Up2Dates that you won't need - for example, you won't want to download u2d-sys-9.350010-350012.tgz.gpg since the Up2Date to 9.350010 is no longer available and u2d-sys-9.321002-350012.tgz.gpg skips right over it.

    In the future, you will want to have a reminder to check back here in the Community every three months to see what version is the latest, trusted one, and Up2Date to that.

    Good luck!

    Cheers - Bob
