UTM Home SafeSearch not working on Chrome Browser

Hello,

I'm running ASG version 9.506-2 with Decrypt and Scan set in the family policy and I have SafeSearch enabled.  I have installed the CA cert as a trusted root CA for our machines as well as installed them on Firefox since it uses it's own certificate store.  SafeSearch is working on Firefox, but not on Chrome.  Chrome is not giving me any HTTPS errors so it appears to be using the certificate, but it is not being forced to use SafeSearch.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

  • The problem seems to stem from the QUIC protocol which evidently the UTM doesn't support yet.  I set firewall rules to reject udp packets with destinations ports of 80 (1:65535 → 80) and 443 (1:65535 → 443) and now it is working again.

  • Just as the article linked to by Alex describes.  If you were using the Proxy in Standard mode, you could add UDP 443 to 'Allowed Target Services' and process the traffic with the Proxy.
