[8.960][BUG] PPPoA connection with o2 (UK ISP provider)

Hi All

I've  recently changed my ISP from BT to o2. o2 requires PPPoA connection. I've set up my existing router in bridge mode (I can see it's connected ). However, UTM is unable to connect

Settings:
modem IP : 192.168.1.1
NIC (ip of the astaro connected to modem) :192.168.1.16
there is no username/password provided
MTU:1500 (tried with 1492 as well but it fails as well)

I've been told that by the o2 support that  I have to spoof my MAC address so that the it seems that it uses the mac address of the original o2 router (I've done this via the virtual mac under the hardware tab)

The error log when it tries to connect is :

  • anyone knows what "2012:06:14-18:54:27 **** pppd-pppoa[6340]: Script /usr/sbin/pptp-current 192.168.1.1 --nolaunchpppd finished (pid 6341), status = 0x1" mean?

modem ip is 192.168.1.1, UTM NIC ip is 192.168.1.16, virtual MAC is :00:26:44:FB:A4:8C (mac of the existing o2 router)

    eth0      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:26:44:FB:A4:8C

also my ISp doesn't provide me with username and password but from memory I think that you always have to put an entry in that field for UTM to work. Is that still the case?
