[9.260][BUG]Kernal Panic with import of backup file?

Hi All
I Just created a new VM to migrate one Firewall to 9.3
The VM have the same HW settings.
I built the FW with a dufferent IP.
Turned off old VM.
When new VM booted and asked, I imported current backup from old 9.2.
Logged into new Webamin all OK.
Then about 30 sec later system system goes cyclic Kernal panic - not syncing Fatal exception in interrupt

I have rebuilt a number of times and get the same results each time.

    Hi Mark_D,

    i tried to reproduce the bug you mentioned above using 2 VM UTM's with different versions and IP ( 1x 9.209-8.1 for creating a backup / 1x 9.260-8.1 for import a backup ). 

    Now started the new UTM and import the backup via the setup wizard - everything looks good. Then i wait about 30 sec and more and check some logs. But theres no kernel panic error. I tried it several times with different versions of backup creation.

    Please, can you specify the versions you are using? Are you using an encrypted backup file?

    The original host is 9.2 running on vmware with 3 nics in hardware.
    In Interfaces 5 Interfaces are configured with 3 on.
    This is the only unusual config.

    The backup file was not encrypted.
    I had the original FW up did a new backup and then export to laptop.
    Built new VM with same specs.
    At IP stage put in a different IP address.
    When Up imported backup (turned off old VM).
    After about 30s - 1m machine went cyclic.
    Tried a couple more times with same results (not sure now of all the different options I tried).

    BTW When 9.3 Patch was release through normal channels. The old machine upgraded OK.

    Hi Alex
    I did a another complete new build with 9.302, but this time instead of inputting a different IP address and importing backup at the very beginning. I went through the wizard to build the machine, then after machine up and rebooted. I logged in and installed backup.
    All has worked fine since.

    Hi Mark,

    I tried it with several scenarios to reproduce, but i cannot reproduce the error you mentioned above. Maybe I need more information or it is already fixed by the new 9.302 version!? But if everything works fine after successfully installed backup it sounds good for me [:)]

    I will have a look into this in future releases.
