[9.165][FEATURE] RED: PPPoE support

Hi,

I cannot find the new feature that RED should be able to do PPPoE directly. It was marked as "planned" for 9.2 in the feature portal: RED: DSL/VDSL (PPPOE) Support

What happened or am I just looking in the wrong places for it?

    Of course, as I work for SOPHOS, I know about the *internal* roadmap. But also of course I can't and won't make anything on that public, I'm not doing any press or customer relations stuff, I'm just a QA technician.

    But only that the feature has been delayed does not mean you have to wait for it until v10. And how comes you think that v10 comes after v9.2? There have been multiple major in-between releases in the past (there even was a v7.500!). Remember, for us, a major version release is x.Yzz where Y increases. And there were maintenance releases introducing new features, so I don't think it has to take that long. Rest assured, it will come as soon as doable after checking priorities.

    Regarding your idea: It would even be possible to attempt trying PPPoE and DHCP at the same time, not only one after the other.
