Ok, here we go...

Attached you will find a first preview version of the SPX documentation. It might/will change in future releases.

Note:
- The documentation is unfinished/wrong regarding where users will be able to download the Outlook plugin. For now see this post
- The field "System email address" in spx templates does not exist. Notifications are sent with the address specified under "Management->Notifications->Global"

thank you for the docs. I did try to set it all up.
somehow nothing gets "Spx'd" all emails pass through the utm and none are successfully changed into the spx pdf etc..

So i must be doing something wrong. How do you trigger spx ? what keyword does it look for or in what formats ? (i think thats the issue)

I do not have outlook its "deprecated" here [:)]. So no use for the plugin. 
If i can understand what and in which format the system looks for keywords i can make it work for sure.

Hi,

you have to set the email header field "X-Sophos-SPX-Encrypt: yes" to trigger spx encryption. That's what the Outlook plugin does for you.
For Thunderbird for example you can do that like described here.

Hi, I thought I have read somewhere (don´t find it any more) that it was intended to be able to trigger SPX encryption also by a special keyword in the subject of the sent mail, something like {spx-enable:secretpassword} or so.


Is this true and if yes, how exactly does the syntax look like?

Hi,

what you are referring to is the SPX password used to encrypt the mail if you configure a SPX template to use password type "Specified by sender". The sender has to place "[secure:]" (replace '' with your actual password) anywhere within the email subject. But still you have to set the header field "X-Sophos-SPX-Encrypt: yes" to signal the UTM that you want to use SPX.

Thank you for all the information. Apparently it was a wrong domain setting somewhere else that made SPX not work.
The header info was helpful also, will make a small thunderbird plugin to make life easy. 
One odd thing either its my email server or something isn't working  but the email you normally get as sender with a temp password to pass to receiver seems to not get sent but i will debug a little more the email server first. Keep you updated.
