[9.100][BUG] ssl vpn clients won't authenticate if user is from edirectory

My ssl vpn clients will no longer authenticate if the user is remotely authenticated/synced from edirectory.

Users are still able to login to the user portal so edir synced authentication works elsewhere.

    generally authentication seems to work, so the access to ssl vpn may be a problem: have you restricted the ssl remote access to
    * the default edirectory group or
    * a backend group with "Limit to backend group(s) membership" or
    * individual users

    We have our ssl vpn access setup via an backend edirectory group with limit to backend group enabled.  I've also tested a couple of edirectory users themselves with little luck.  This setup worked previously in 9.0 and older 8.x versions
