[ANSWERED] Error 4 on install?

How are you installing?  Usb key? If so, is it one of those u3 ones with a cd partition? Use a different key.

Same error with another usb stick - a freshly formatted Kingston DataTraveller

Add more RAM!

Already ordered more memory - Are we saying the minimum/recommended is not 1GB

1GB should be fine, that's what our test bed is running on. What format are you formatting your USBs to?

I write the iso using the recommended image writer which should overwrite any partition on the usb stick.

Hmm, are you using USB 3?

Does your motherboard use shared graphics memory?  Check the amount of actual RAM available with memtest or another tool.

Tested VirtualBox on Windows 7, Sophos Firewall OS beta 143:
1008 MB RAM, installer fails, Error 4
1009 MB RAM, installer proceeds

Additionally (added in edit):
The installer could be much clearer on the test(s) failed.
Are the possible errors publicly documented?

Thanks teched, forgot about shared memory when I pulled the display card. Now merrily formatting the report partition.
