I am sure the cost of those ASG 110/120 Hardware Itself which is very low end cost less than $800 Singapore Dollars.
It is more or less the same cost of building own piece of hardware but if we are able to buy the exact ASG110 hardware, at least we know guarantee it will work.
I do understand the actual retail price of ASG110/120 cost a lot more due to commercial license.
Thus I was thinking, it would be great if Astaro simply sell the hardware empty, we load the Home User Software and License which works and also we are farmiliar in real life if we deploy at work, how to upgrade firmware etc.
Also by buying ASG110 hardware etc, we can learn Load Balancing / HA etc.
Lastly, compared to my Big HP Server, it is a lot smaller and not as Noisy.
Also we can play with Site to Site VPN ( That tiny box is so much more portable etc)
But sad to say, even if willing to pay for a retail box, it is a pain to convince the sellers a consumer is willing to buy.
