I want to evaluate the new log management function in V8.2, but in the log management portal the 'settings -> download windows agent' menu is grayed out. Any idea how I can the the agent otherwise? Did I miss something?
Hi franc, the agent is for client authentication to the asg and isnt related to log management. Have you already enabled LM and now want to send logs from your windows box or workstation to the LM system? If so you need to set your logging to fire logs at ASG, usually via syslog, and ASG will dump them into the LM system from there.
log management is enabled on ASG. I use the 'login' button on the log management page to access the portal. In there the download agent menu is grayed out. Since I'm testing ASG 8.2 at home using my home license I only have Windows clients. So that's why I need to install the Windows Agent to test the log management feature.

we currently can't see any problem with our dashboard pools. Do you still see that problem? Can you please tell us your subscription id?
Regarding the Windows client: currently we can't provide you with a windows client. We decided to disable the download until we sorted out the problems that we were having.

you should now be able to access the LM dashboard.
We're currently struggling with our indexing infrastructure, which leads to log data not being shown in a timely manner or even the "Error loading data" message in the chart section. Sorry for any inconveniences, we hope that this will be resolved soon.

actually that was an entirely different problem. For an (yet) unknown reason, two identical accounts with the same id were created in short order, which lead to problems with services for this account. Once we removed the superfluous one (the one that didn't receive data) everything worked fine.
