The ip6tables output you mailed me showed an different IPv6 address
for your host than your IPv6 Network. Probably an issue of Freenet6,
providing you with the wrong Subnet.

Sorry, was busy at work so didn't get to this earlier. I have to tell you Ulrich, you are a genius. Your brain must be able to decode the matrix. The hint was

As is the case with most of the problems, it was a user error. I had been using freenet6 and had defined my PC accordingly and then I changed to sixxs and never changed the ipv6 definition of my PC to reflect the new subnet that was assigned by sixxs.

So yes, everything works just like you explained. I was not paying enough attention and my apologies for that.
